Sigh...
I can’t lie, two games in and I am completely frustrated. Errors, guys LOB, and some Padre-esque hitting from the Dodgers. But two games does not make a season, and there were a lot of positives to take from tonight. Belts first Major League home run, Sandoval making pretty good contact, and the starting pitching was very good once again. And I haven’t swooned this much over a rookie...

For those of you who follow Giants players (and minor leaguers) on Twitter, Ehire Adrianza (@soncaballos) actually isn’t the author of his Tweets. “It’s my father,” Adrianza said. “I don’t have the Twitter.” Good thing Ehire Sr. doesn’t Tweet about late-night bar hopping in Scottsdale. Baseball Poem
Here’s is a poem that I found a while back. I’m not sure who wrote it, but I read it every year before Pitchers and Catchers report. It’s a little outdated, but I’m sure most will get the references :)p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } Love’s Winter Haven True love needs no holiday to prove it has power It doesn’t need candy or jewelry or flowers The calendar...

25 DAY SF GIANTS SPRING TRAINING COUNTDOWN...
1.  The Giants pitcher most likely to win the 2011 Cy Young. I would really love to say Matt Cain, but I don’t think he will ever get that type of recognition, even if he does pitch at that level. Not to say that he is sub-par compared to the rest of these guys, he just doesn’t have that type of character quality that the masses eat up. But he’s a Cy in my heart. My pick would...

2.  Favorite World Series game. Game 2. Matty continued to be amazing, the Rangers bullpen had a complete meltdown, and Kinsler’s almost HR was kept in the park by the hand of…God? It made me feel completely confident going into Arlington with a 2-0 lead. What a great game.

kimberly33: By Carleigh Ottwell Twas the night before Spring Training, when all through the land,  Baseball players were arriving where there’s sun and there’s sand.  Their jerseys were hung in their lockers with care,  For the veterans and rookies that soon would be there. 3.  Best celebration photo or GIF. About a year or two ago, before Posey had been called up, I would daydream that the Giants were playing Game 7 of the WS. Lincecum would be pitching a perfect game, and had two strikes with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. He would throw the last pitch, which the hitter swung through, and Buster would come charging out to the mound and embrace his...

5.  Favorite player picked up mid-season. Here’s to Cody Ross MVP thus far. I love that song. Probably will be the player that everybody picks, but what’s not to like about this guy? I know there’s concern for how well he will perform next season, but we can all agree that pre-season predictions, no matter team or player, can become the opposite in a second. Besides, his smile...

6. Favorite post-season play. I’ve been cheating a lot for this challenge, so why stop now? I have two, both involving Huff. Man, I love that guy. First is a play where he tagged out Kinsler at first in Game 1 of the WS, and this beautiful gif was created. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=12917445&topic_id=14871226&c_id=mlb Second is Game 6 of the NLCS to end the...

7.  A player on the 2002 World Series team you would give a ring to. Rich Aurilia. He has always been my families personal favorite, and my mom has a crazy crush on him. Knowing that he played in 2009 when they almost made it to the playoffs breaks my heart. One more year and he would have gotten a ring. But I know that he was a liability, and his spot opened a door for someone else. I wish that...

I’m sitting at work listening to Pandora on my iPhone, and an ad comes on between songs. I don’t really pay attention to the ads, but the voice caught my attention. It was Bochy! It was an add for season tickets, and the picture has the new slogan “Together we’re Giant”. It kinda made my day :)

9.  Your post-season MVP. Cain, The Bullpen, Timmy, Ross, the list goes on and on, and it was truly a team effort. But the one guy who stood out the most to me was Brian Wilson. Every time he came in for the save, he got the job done, whether he made it tortuous or not. He is the player that gets all of the attention, but it’s because he deserves it. BTW, glad I didn’t go to fan...

10. A Giant who came before your time whom you wish you could have seen. I have to say two players, because I can’t choose between them. 1. Willie Mays Does this even need an explanation? Arguably the greatest player of all time, and he played the majority of his career with the Giants, which gives us the ultimate bragging rights. 2. Will Clark Every person I’ve talked to...

11. “Win it for _________.” I could say Mike Murphy, as he is number one on my list, but everyone else seems to have him covered, so I’ll go with another. The Giants coaching staff, more specifically Dave Righetti. He had a short stint with the team in the early 90s, and has been the pitching coach since 2000, so he is well versed in Giants heartbreak. He seems to deeply care for his...

12. What you did/where you were when the Giants won the World Series. I was at home, watching with my family. I was trying to multi-task by watching the game, listening to a delayed radio stream, and trying to post on MCC. 15. An ex-Giant you still root for. Joe Martinez. Although he has only been gone a few months, I really wish he could have been a bigger part of this team. The whole ordeal at the start of 2009 when he got hit was horrible, and I felt terrible that he was toyed with back and forth from Fresno to SF, but that’s baseball. Traded to the Piratew for Lopez, and now is with the Indians, I wish...

16. One player you would never trade. So hard to choose, but when it finally came down to it, it was Matt Cain. He’s the first guy I think of when I bring up this team. He’s been here through the thick and thin, and seems to really love it here. I know people like to say that Timmy or Buster will be the leaders of this team, and the faces of the franchise, but it will always be Matty...

17. Most underappreciated moment. Freddy Sanchez’s two out hit in game 3 of the NLDS. He had already swung at two pitches that made him look bad, took a ball, and fouled off another until he hit one up the middle. It was one pitch away from being over. The Giants looked down, and the Braves were ready to jump out of their dugout, but Freddy kept hope alive, along with Ishikawa. Great...

19. Scariest post-season game. NLDS Game 3. The series was tied 1-1 going into Atlanta, where the Giants hadn’t played well all year. Jonathan Sanchez was amazing, going 7.1 only allowing two hits and striking out 11. Bottom of the 8th, Romo comes in with a 1-0 lead and a runner on and gave up a HR to Eric Hinske. It was soul crushing. SOUL CRUSHING. I remember listening to the game on my...

20. Favorite former Giant. Barry Bonds. I started watching baseball during his 2001 single season HR chase, and it was amazing. Being able to witness his last few years of baseball, which I am so thankful for. Not being old enough to see past Giants greats such as Mays and McCovey, but I was able to see the best of my generation. No matter what he did or did not do is not my concern. I was able...

21. Most heartbreaking loss. So many to choose from, but the one that crushed me the most was April 18, down in L.A. It was a pitching duel between Zito and Kershaw, and both guys were at the top of their game. Giants had a 1-0 lead going into the bottom of the 8th, when Zito was taken out after he had let a runner get on base. Romo came in to face Manny, who hit a bomb to take the lead. I ...

22. Favorite regular season game. I feel like I would have to look at the box score of every game just to remember which one I liked most, but off the top of my head, it would have to be April 9, the home opener. It was the first game of the season that I could see in person, and it was one hell of a game. It was torture, it was magic, it was the beginning of a beautiful season.

25. Favorite current Giant. I can see that this challenge is going to be pretty difficult, as I don’t have one favorite of anything related to the Giants, but I will try my best.
